I'll always be in love with the mountains; deep forests and flowing rivers. There always seems to be mystery calling you to them. What I want to talk about is my love affaire with the desert. Forests hold secrets and lies within its trees and landscape, never fully letting you understand it. The desert on the other hand, is brutally honest. It splays out the truth for you, even if it's a truth you aren't ready for. She will provide for you; just when you feel you won't be able to go on, she throws you a lifeline. Her landscape is wide open only holding only a few secrets for those who take the time to get to know her. When things get rough and the mountain grows cold, you can find me between the sage and the sandstone.
This collection of images is from my most recent trip to the Utah desert with my climbing partner. Our first day was spent in Indian Creek fighting cold temps and high winds climbing the South Six Shooter.
